Apparently fertility in men has been decreasing over the last few decades in western cultures, evident by a study that showed decreased sperm counts in western men. The causes could be many, bad habits like smoking and poor diet can have negative effects on male fertility. As can drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, which is often used to self medicate those who are stressed out from their jobs and family lives. The stress itself is another potential factor.
Environmental factors
Other factors that can be having this negative effect on sperm count could be elevated estrogen levels caused by estrogen in drinking water or hormones in milk. Skinny jeans are popular in some social circles, which can have a negative impact because tight, restricting clothing are also a factor in lowered sperm production. This is due to the clothing raising the temperature in the genital area.
The electronic age
Some think the main culprit could be based in modern technology, namely the use of laptops computers, well, on your lap. The basis of this thinking is that using laptops raises the temperature on and around the testicles. Higher temperatures have a negative effect on sperm production and mobility. Men will experience lower sperm counts and the heat can actually make the sperm become shaped differently, and less effective at penetrating the egg.
Just chill out
Some research shows sperm counts are down by up to 50%, but there are things you can do to help. First off, just chill out and hang loose. No, I don’t mean relax, I mean wear clothing that is less restrictive and allow your boys room to breathe, and keep them cool by not using hot electronic devices on your lap. This could be all you need to remedy the problem of laptops and male infertility.
