A healthy body is a happy body. Maybe it’s not so healthy while it’s exercising in order to be healthy, but it enjoys the benefits obtained through exercise. One of these benefits is a higher sperm count in men and healthier sperm.
What kind of exercise
A six month study with nearly 300 male participants was performed over four parameters. Sedentary (no exercise), light exercise, moderate exercise, and heavy exercise determined that moderate exercise proved to be the most effective in improving the vitality of sperm and male fertility levels.
Simply by walking briskly for a half an hour, three times per week can increase your sperm count and improve the health of your sperm. All three groups who exercised showed improvement in their sperm count and vitality compared to the no exercise group.
Why does it help
Approximately 33% of the men in the exercise groups were overweight to some degree and all lost varying amounts of weight. It is believed that this attributed at least somewhat to the overall sperm count results since obesity is known to have an adverse effect on male fertility. The participants in the sedentary group did not lose weight and did not show an improvement in sperm count or sperm vitality, sadly with no benefit shown to the male infertility rates in that group.
Consult your physician
Before you start exercising you should consult your physician to make sure that doing so will do you no harm and no medical conditions are preexisting. Exercise beginners and persons with high blood pressure or heart conditions should perform only light exercise, like walking to start out with and gradually increase the intensity.
