Fertility medications are designed for specific purposes. There are fertility medications designed to stimulate and increase ovulation so that the fertility doctors may retrieve follicles (egg cells) from the ovaries to be fertilized and grown into embryos, which are then implanted into the uterus and hopefully develop into a successful full term pregnancy.
Preventing menstruation
Other fertility medications are designed specifically to prevent menstruation. This is done so that the embryo implantation procedure is not wasted. Menstruation is the process of the uterus expelling old unfertilized eggs and the uterine lining in preparation for a new egg cell. This occurs monthly and if it were to occur naturally it can destroy the embryo implantation.
Another reason for preventing menstruation is that if menstruation is stopped for a couple of months prior to using ovulation stimulating medications these medications seem to be more effective.
Successful IVF
A sex reveal party is a gathering that takes place for an expecting couple to announce whether they are expecting a boy or a girl. But before the couple can have the party, they have to have the pregnancy. Some of these couples need help to achieve this blessed event in the form of IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) and through the use of fertility medications.
These medications designed to suppress and control the menstrual cycle are an important tool in the IVF process. Without this class of fertility medication the IVF procedure might prove to be impossible to perform successfully.
